🌞 Makar Sankranti / Pongal Celebration

Join us as we celebrate Makar Sankranti, the festival that marks the sun’s transition into Capricorn (Makara Rashi) and the beginning of longer, brighter days. Known as Pongal in South India, this harvest festival is a time to give thanks for abundance, light and new beginnings.

Our temple will host traditional rituals, prayers, and cultural activities to honor the Sun God (Surya Dev) and express gratitude for nature’s bounty. Families are encouraged to participate and offer Sankranti / Pongal prasad such as sesame sweets (tilgul) and freshly made Pongal rice.
